Our owned Cardiology group is currently performing and billing total component Echo's done in the office. The equipment they use to interpret, store, back up and save the images is end of life. They have asked if the images done in their office using their owned equipment can be transferred to the hospital owned equipment used for interpretation, storing, saving and backing up. We have found that this is possible but I am not sure it will be appropriate to allow the Physician group to continue billing total component as they will not own all the equipment used to perform the entire procedure. Can anyone advise on this??
