I am hoping to get some clarification on TPN coding, to my understanding TPN coding by a physician would be included in the subsequent hospital care. Two GI physicians see patient on same day, one documents only TPN and the other the subsequent visit. I would only bill one subsequent, since same department. I am being told to use nutrition cpt code for nutrition note. Can someone please clarify. Thank you in advance.
