If patient had A Thoracoscopy, surgical; with wedge resection of lung, single or multiple and then after few days needs a Tracheostomy, do I add a modifier? or is part of the global?

Was the trach planned/staged, unplanned but required due to a documented complication of the wedge resection or unrelated and performed due to difficulty with extubation of a patient who had been intubated for awhile? Without the medical record, it is difficult to be more specific about the modifier.
