Ok, I am needing help with a particular type scenario....
Our Dr. is a Hopsitalist that rounds at several facilities every day. Some facilities are hospital and some are specialty hospitals.
Patient Smith was admitted on August 31 by Dr. Jones at Hospital A, and Dr. Jones was admitting and attending. Patient Smith transferred and admitted to Specialty Hospital B on September 1. The pt. was then seen at Specialty Hospital B on September 1 by Dr. Jones as admitting and attending.
Can we bill Dr. Jones as 99223 at Hospital A on August 31 and Dr. Jones as 99222 at Specialty Hospital B for September 1?
Dx are not identical, but close enough.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
