I'm new to billing for pain management and can not figure out what I should be coding for this. The physicial injected a total volume of 60 cc's consisting of OZONE GAS. I know the trigger point injection is 20553 but is there a j code or another code I should be using for the ozone gas? I can not find it in the HCPCS book and was wondering if I'm just missing it or what exactly I should be looking for.

Thanks!
Rob

I've been billing for a pain mgmt group for 7 years and I've never heard of injecting ozone during a TPI. That is bizarre! I'll do a little research. If I find anything helpful I'll let you know.

It seems that ozone therapy is much more widely used in Europe than in the US. I would be very surprised if any insurance covered it. I could not find a J code for it. Maybe someone else here knows something about this treatment? Good luck.

for J2001 - if you look at this in HCPCS book, it says it is for iv infusion. This should not be billed for trigger point injections.
