I was wondering what other people were using for this.... NOT trigger finger. like if it was the shoulder, would you guys use 726.2???? I know that's usually for impingement, but I'm seeing this more and more lately.... I just want to make sure I'm coding it right.
Any suggestions??

Oh really???? So it doesn't need to specify where? Could I also use muscle spasm? The PA I was asking about this suggested muscle spasm.
 
Chech with your Medicare contractor for an LCD for trigger point injections and see if it gives you any guidance. WPS, my Medicare contractor, has very specific information for the diagnosis coding of trigger point inejctions.
 
I FINALLY found it. I've been trying to look for this for a while. I just kept looking at where it says "ICD 9 codes that do not support medical necessity" and it says N/A so i assumed it didn't matter. Thank you guys SO much!!!!
