Can we bill for a patient seen in the ER at 2am and then later admitted from the ER at 4pm on the same day? Same Patient, Same physician, and Same DX.... ugh.

No you cannot bill for this. You can however marry the two visits together and bill only for the admit and include the complexity of the er encounter.

Thank you Debra! I was hoping you would be the one to answer my question and I always look for your comments in other postings.

Another question: If they were seen by the Same physician but for Different DX.... can you bill for that?
