I am working with two LCSW who are both seeing the same patient the same day. One LCSW provides a cognitive/behavioral psychotherapy session with the patient and the other performs eye movement therapy for PTSD.
If eye movement therapy is allowed by the payer, in the treatment plan, and considered a type of psychotherapy, then we would have two different providers billing for psychotherapy on the same day?
With two E&M visits on the same day, one would bundle under 1
provider number?
I am wondering if regardless of payer it would be copacetic to
combine the time and bill one psychotherapy visit- say under the
provider that does the longer time?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
