Patient came into ER with bimalleolar fracture. Physicians attempted reduction with mod sedation but it was not totally successful. Three hours later they attempted another reduction (still in ER) with mod sedation.

How would this reduction be charged? Would it be charged as two separate procedures?

How would the mod sedation be charged? As two initial sedations?

Yes I would charge the second reduction and sedation. I wouldn't think the first reduction/sedation would be charged because it was unsuccessful. Please correct me if I am wrong about this :)
