We had a patient that was seen at the end of the day, with one of our F/P doctors. The visit carried on over to our urgent care, where the patient was given a IV and also followed up by our F/P urgent care doctor. Can both doctors bill an E/M visit. Or should just the first doctor bill? Thanks

If both Docs are from the same group you can only bill one. You should bill the higher of the two cpt's

two services

I think it depends on the type of facility, if they are both family practice doctors but one is at Urgent Care they have a different tax id number so they should both be able to bill for their services as they were both separate and distinct.
