We are a CAH. Our lab is located in the hospital. Our two clinics are owned by the hospital. Patients have to go to the lab for blood draws that are part of their annual physical exams. Can the lab service be billed on a 1500 w/POS 22 and hospital outpatient npi#? Or do I have to submit on a UB POS 22 and outpatient hospital npi#. I have been told by one commercial insurance that if I bill on the 1500 as above they will pay claim under screening benefits rather than outpatient hospital benefits.
