I am new to these codes and lost at the same time. My understanding is that the physican office can use G0434 QW. If the physician wants confirmation on Opiates, Cocain, Benzodiazepines, and Oxycodone he sends the request to the lab....the lab would then bill out 80102 x 4?
Any help understanding this would be greatly appreciated.
Also G0431 would be only for the lab to bill?

Thanks
Deb

The G0434--QW is what the office should be billing for the POC testing.
G0431 is what the lab bills when they screen. If you send the POC test in for confirmation you will need to decide if you want your results quanted or a qualitative result. That would then determine the cpt code used.

Good luck
