Wiki UHC Denying G89.19 for 62322-59

stating IS NOT APPROPRIATE BECAUSE IT IS NOT A PROVEN DIAGNOSIS WITH PROCEDURE CODE 62322. So we changed to the actual diagnosis for the procedure and it denied for same reasons. Anyone else having this issue? If so, how did you correct it? Thank you.

After reviewing the codes in the 2024 ICD-10 manual, I don't see G89.19 listed. Perhaps that's why you received a denial.

I would also append XP to this showing that it was unbundled appropriately from the surgery.

There is no dx as G89.19 thus you must mean G89.29 But if bill pain syndrome or chronic once noted ,must list a dx reason why have pain. Is the pain due to lumbar back,& sacral area? That should be second dx, then a dx G89.29 first. Id use modifier XS not 59 means 2 differ places back & sacral . I hope this data helps
