what code(s) would be used for an ultrasound guided core needle biopsy of an axillary mass with a coil placement?

You may want to ask the doctor for clarification. Most biopsies that I have read that had a marker inserted were for lymph node biopsy. If not a lymph node biopsy, code 20206.

10035 includes the 76942, do not unbundle. If you have access to EMR and can see pathology report for this biopsy you will be able to confirm whether core sample came from lymph node or other soft tissue to appropriately assign 20206 or 38505. Either way, the US Guidance is included with the coil placement 10035 code. As documented I would assign 20206, 10035.
