Hello
If ultrasound was performed on gyn or ob pt, do we as coders have to see the images to be able to bill ex.76830 or can we bill based of sonographer/clinician note ?

I am not aware of any requirement that you must personally see these images in order to code for the services. The images do need to be saved though. In fact, as a coder, I do not have access to my organization's PACs system where the images are stored. I code based on the order and report findings. I suppose to be totally 100% compliant, I would confirm those images are in fact stored on PACs, but that confirmation is not required by my employer.

Hi there, the documentation is enough.

Coders don't need to see the actual image associated with a code any more than they need to watch the provider perform surgery in order to code the procedure.
