Wiki UMC Says No PA's for intiial fracture care!!

Is anyone else having a problem with an UMC with billing for intial fracture care under a PA. They are saying it is an edit in effect since 2007 however they are as of OCT 2010 enforcing this rule. They explain that our PA's cant bill for intial care with any MAJOR(90 day post care)surgery. ANY IDEAS or WHERE WE CAN FIND MORE INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! :confused:
 
It could be a rule in your state with PAs. I have actually heard this before in other states. It has to with fracture care being designated a major surgery. Check your states PA licensure restrictions. OR it is a UMC policy and it would be in your contract.
