Good Morning! I have my pathologist stating on the report "It is uncertain the tumor being primary or metastatic, Clinical correlation is required." Now, seeing that he can't decide if it is primary or secondary am I right in using D38.1?

Hi RobynKing,
Hmm ~ There is an extremely limited amount of information provided here; what type of tumor are we dealing with and from what location of the body is this from? I simply cannot tell you with your statement if D38.1 is appropriate or not because I do not have enough information. Are you able to provide additional details for assistance with your coding woes please?
Thank you in advance for all your help,

I am so very sorry about now being any clearer on this. Right now I can't find the patient that I had the question on. But I know that it was of the main bronchus but he label it malignant he just didn't know if it was primary or secondary neoplasm. He could not give me that information. I have been looking for the case report with that person on it but can't seem to find it at the moment, but I thank you for getting to my question. I appreciate it.
