Wiki Unna Boot Dressing Changes

We applied an Unna Boot in the office (no debridement) and reported code 29580. The question now is the patient returns for dressing changes performed by the nurse. Are these billable as an E/M? It should be noted this is POS 22 and POS 11 (two different clinics). Thanks.

But it depends on documentation more than anything. Of no other distinct E&M was performed and documented, then no E&M

One: if done by a nurse, of course not.

Two: If done by a physician with a separately documented encounter, when other issues are addressed etc then yes.

Thanks, but I'm referring to after the Unna Boot has been applied. We apply the Unna Boot on Monday and patient then returns on Thursday for dressing changes with the nurse in POS 22 and 11. Would this be an E/M?
