Wiki Unspecified codes- Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma

We are told to instruct our providers not to use "unspecified codes" if there are better, more specified codes available.
I am working with a provider who tells me that if that is the case, why are so many of the Non-Hodgkin lymphoma codes "unspecified" in ICD 10?
Codes C85.90-C85.99.
Would it be better to use the "other specified" codes like C85.80-C85.89.
What is the difference between the "unspecifed" and the "other specified."
Any help would be appreciated.
