My physician performed a successful superficial femoral artery stent. On placing the popliteal artery stent the tip of the stent catheter broke off upon insertion and lodged in the distal peroneal artery. My physician worked for 3 hours with multiple devices in attempt to retrieve the broken catheter tip. Can we bill a 37203 for Transcatheter retrieval percutaneous of intrasvacular foreign body even though we could not actually retrieve the catheter tip. Thanks for the help.
