need your help...

For CABG physician tried to harvest vein using endoscopy...but its not successfully completed,

(right leg was explored endoscopically but no usable vein was identified)...

for this can i code 33508-53.....:confused:

CABG completed successfully using 2 arterial grafts (33534)
 
I know this is an old post but I thought I would reply anyway....It would be appropriate to bill the 2 arterial grafts without the 53 mod on this. The only reason I would use the 53 mod would be if the actual "procedure was cancelled due to extenuating circumstances or those that threaten the well being of the patient". Since he was able to perform the CABG I wouldn't think that modifier would be appropriate.
