I just posted this same, it similar post in general discussion looking for help, I have a physician's dx of urosepsis but we know that this is a code to condition code, the patient also has a UTI and infection due to obstruction from a stone post stent insertion. This is an infusion case, please let me know what you guys think, thank you!
 
The ICD-10 Guidelines directs the coder to always query the provider when the provider documents urosepsis. Please read Section 1C.1.d.1.a.ii very straight forward guidance.
 
yeah, thank you, just as I thought, it states that 100% of the time a query is warranted unless a clear cut dx is also documented. Here it is a metter of sepsis vs uti.thank you so much!
