I don't see many posts that deal specifically with Urgent Care but was wondering if anyone who works in that industry has experience with submitting claims for patients that come in for behavioral health. We see many patients, especially on weekends, that complain of panic attacks, generalized anxiety or depression. One carrier in particular has recently started denying these claims because our provider is a medical doctor and is not a certified behavioral health expert. I am torn about requiring these patients to be seen as self-pay but am not seeing any other alternative other than submitting claims based on symptoms.

Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with these types of claims?

Thanks!
