Our Drs are asking, if they get a request of an US of the RUQ do they document the LV, GB, pancreas, RT kidney & spleen? Or if they get a request for the GB do they only document the gallbladder when the techs are used to imaging the LV,GB,PN and RT kidney? I have read thru the ACR guidelines and it tells you to follow the appropriateness critera, however that wasn't much help. They are also questioning if they get a request for "US Abdomen" should they be dictating all the elements when the rx isn't specific?
