I am getting a question from a provider that is trying to bill the use of an IUD for Hyperplasia rather then contraception. The codes that they are looking at using are J7302 for the Levonorgestrel - but this is for contraception and 58300 for the insertion - but again this is for contraception. I am wondering if I should point them to the unlisted codes? Any help is appreciated!!

I would use the J7302 and 58300. I don't think the CPT/HCPCS codes would be different in this case than if the IUD was for contraceptive purposes. That seems more like an ICD-9 distinction.
