Wiki Use the official Draft ICD-10-CM

Hi, I've had a couple of questions from coders who are evidently using online ICD-10 coding engines to code their charts. These online 'resources' are publishing erroneous instructions.

All of these online coding resources have published disclaimers that indicate that they "get their information online, and they can't and won't vouch for the accuracy." That's comforting.

Do yourself a favor and get yourself an ICD-10-CM official draft book. Don't rely on ICD-10.com or any other online resource that's not an official publication. This transition will be tricky enough without making mistakes because you got bad information.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention publishes the ICD guidelines. Through their webiste you can get a complete copy of the ICD-10-CM 2015 in PDF format, as well as the ICD-10-CM 2016 Draft.

Thank you for your response. I am unable to view zip files on this computer. I do have a ICD 10 book but can't seem to find the code. Still in need of guidance please. Thank you again
