Will commercial insurance and Medicare pay 36591 when used when patient is having chemotherapy? Thanks
 
It depends on your documentation. Is the port accessed separate from the access for the admin of the chemo if so then it is possible to bill the 36591 with a modifier. If it is accessed only once then it cannot have a modifier attached. Check the bundle edits though this may have changed but it use to be bundled with the admin codes.
