Hi, I have an operative report that the doctor states that the uterus weight was 270 grams but the pathology report state the uterus weight was 248 grams. I do go by the path report... right???
Thank you in advance!!

I would ask the doc and see if they estimated the weight or if they weighed it themselves and explain the weight given by path.

Usually if the OP report states the weight or measurement of the specimen then go by the OP report. This would indicate that the physician actually weighed or measured the specimen before sending it to Pathology (it does happen but is rare). Pathology specimens generally shrink by the time they can process them.

Ultimately if the Physician documents it then you go by what they have documented.
