A patient had cervical disc replacement due to 722.0 Displacement of intervertebral disc, is V43.89 an appropriate code to use for Cervical disc replacement or would you use V58.78
 
V58.78 is for aftercare, so that would not apply for the replacment. V43.89 is considered a secondary DX, so you would have to use the 722.0 as the priamary dx
