Have a quick question. Hoping someone can help me out. My physician is infectious disease and monitors IV antibiotics such as Cubisin. Blood work has to be done. V58.69 (Long-term (current) use of other medications including high risk) is routinely used but I am wondering if V58.62 (Long-term (current use of antibiotics) would be more appropriate.

I would appreciate any input. Thanks!

Tammy

I would think that the V58.62 would be better because it is an antibiotic and the other code would be if the medication wasn't listed as a code. That is why it states "other medication" Hope this helps.
