I need help on the dx. code V82.81, is this code only for woman? We had a gentleman come in for a Dexa Scan and the provider gave V82.81 as the dx. code. The patients insurance is Humana they denied payment for the dx. that was used. Can someone please help me with this? Thank you.:confused:
 
No, this code is not for a specific sex. In your code book it would have the sign for the sexes next to a diagnosis if it is to be used for a particular sex. The circle with the arrow going up for a male or a circle with an arrow going down for a female.
