I have a patient report who is 20 years and 6 months old with the BMI 30. As per guideline V85.30 can be coded for over 20 years old. I am not sure if this need to be coded as V85.5x series code as he is 20 years and 6 months. I will be thankful if any one in the list clarify me:confused:
 
well i would go with V85.30 BODY MASS INDEX 30.0-30.9 ADULT. please note bmi adults codes are for persons OVER 20yrs old. PEDIATRIC bmi codes V85.5X states persons age 2-20 yrs old. hope this helps...
