What exactly is the difference between the 90471 and 90460?? Our practice has always charged the 90471 and then I see the 90460 for patients 18 and under. Other than that all I can also see is that they are receiving counseling from a physician, which our providers always disclose all adverse affects.

When you bill 90460 you bill that for the first vaccine/component and you would bill 90461 for each additional toxoid/component.
Say you give a varicella and a pdt+tab you would bill 94060, 90461, and 90461 because there are to components in pdt+tab.
Also I am sure the reimbursement is different between the 90471 and 90460
