Season's Greetings:
Is there a code for a jump bypass using a vein and bypassing from one of the common femur artery to the profundus artery, same leg. I found code, 35558-bypass vein, femur to femur. But when you look in encoder it states that's for the contralatetal leg connecting or bypassing the two femoral arteries at the pelvis. But the CPT book doesn't specify it has to be the opposite leg. And I found an article from the American Academy of Vascular surgeons that states it can be used if the bypass is done on both legs or one leg. I'm trying to find more evidence to back this up so we don't have to bill an unlisted code.
