Please help! My surgeon did a revision to a ventriculoperitoneal shunt by tying off and removing the peritoneal catheter only due to infection. I see the CPT code 62230 for shunt revision; however, in my coding program it states revision to the ventrular portion and not just the peritoneal section only. Is this revision code still aprropriate? Or is there another CPT code I should be using?
