Is there such thing as billing a visit by proxy? One of our providers met with the patient's daughter and completed IHSS forms, the pt is non-ambulatory and meds were refill. Diagnosis are availble for this meeting, but am not sure if I can either coded or bill for it!
Need Help! please! bc:confused:

Oh my! it seems like they had billed for this services before and I don't how!
Thanks for your help!

Medicare

Medicare requires that the PATIENT be present to bill an E/M. They do NOT accept "visit by proxy."

Hope that helps.
