Hi All,

I have a scenerio where a patient came in for a HVF (92083) at the hosptial. Tech documents that patient is glaucoma suspect.

Then Documents the following:

Attempted both HVF and GVF; patient could not keep his eyes open, continuously backed out of machine; patient is not a VF candidate.

How would you code this?

Hi there,

Question is...did you perform any part of the test? If so, you would code 92083 with a 52 modifier for reduced services. If no part of the test was performed, then you would not be able to use the VF code.
