Good afternoon all,

I have a psychiatrist who does mostly office visits/ consultations. Her practice wants to hire a nurse to check for vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, ect.).
Are vital signs billed separately or are they included in the office visit, and we just adjust the time accordingly? Thanks in advance for the help!

Vital signs are included in the Exam portion of an office visit; there will not be a separate charge. Depending on what else is documented, and what codes (s)he typically bills, it may affect the level of service chosen for each visit.
