One of our doctors debrided and area on the body and then "washed and cleaned" separate areas on the wounds of the face and abdomen. I don't know of a code for cleaning up wounds from an accident other than cleaning included with closure for lacerations, but the actual wounds were not deep enough for closure. We feel that the doctor should get paid for this work but we do not know a code. Is the doctor just out of luck on this one by not getting paid?
