I'm trying to locate some information for my surgeon regarding impairment rating for vocal cord paralysis. This is a W/C injury that took place a year or so ago. I found the rating guide on the NC Ind. Commission but I don't see anything that sticks out for this type of injury. The surgeon strongly feels that the typical 10-15% impairment rating does not properly report his disability. I have called the Industrial Comm. but was told to "use your best judgement". Does anyone have any experience with this type of injury? How to calculate the additional impairment rating?
