Wegovy acts on areas of the brain which are involved in regulating your appetite. It increases feelings of fullness, reduces feelings of hunger and reduces the preference for high-fat foods. It also reduces blood sugar by promoting the release of insulin when blood sugar levels are high.
Instead of for diabetes a patient is using Wegovy for weight loss for morbid obesity & it causes significant nausea would the adverse effect T code be for appetite suppressant or for anti-diabetic? Wegovy for diabetes was used off-label a lot for weight control but, since it is now FDA approved for weight loss I would think maybe the appetite suppressant code?
