In the ICD10 code book, newborn weight checks is listed under Z00.111 which is also the code for newborn check 8 to 28 days. What code would you use for a newborn weight check under 8 days? I would think Z00.110 but it doesn't specifically say that in the book. Thanks for the advice!!

That is confusing but I would not let that stop you from reporting code Z00.110 as the newborn weight check is a health check as described by code Z00.110 despite the lack of reference to weight check. The AAP policies related to visits 48-72 hours after discharge from the birth admission are often referred to as weight check visits but actually include evaluation of hydration, feeding, signs of jaundice, and preventive counseling to the parents. If any problem is diagnosed (eg, feeding problem), that diagnosis is reported as well.
