One of our PA's heard on the news that Medicare will reimburse for weight loss visits at the patients primary care office. Does anyone know if this is true and what CPT code to use. Thanks in advance for any help.
 
If only it were that easy. Check out the MLM article on G0447, behavioral counseling for obesity. This has been in place for a few years now.

There are some specific diags that are required, and some very specific documentation guidelines.

Even with our fancy EHR, we haven't even bothered.
 
Thanks Pam...I will let the PA decide if this is what he would like to do. I am new to the AACP (started my certification a few weeks ago) and did not know about the MLN. What a great resource.
