Sometimes we have children that come in and get too upset to complete the entire exam. They are then rescheduled to come back and complete the portions of the well visit that were not completed the first time they were seen. Currently, I have a patient that came back for his hearing and vision screening as well as MMR vaccine. I am prepared to bill for an OV if the documentation supports it and it is separately identifiable. My question is how I should code for the hearing and vision exams? Should I be using a well visit dx or an "encounter for screening" code? 33 modifier? Z23 for the shots? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
