We have more and more patients coming in for a "wellness" appointment and they are bringing a form for their employment. They are on a Wellness plan at work that requires them to do their "wellness" visits.

What happens when they are presenting for a med check or have other symptoms and they want the charges billed with a wellness cpt/dx for their employer?

We wonder the same thing. A local popular insurance here wants them to have a dedicated visit to discuss wellness goals and then they are given a discount on premiums. The problem is 99402 accurately reflects the visit, but that code is not reimbursable. What are you doing? How do you reconcile accurate coding and the need to be reimbursed for the provider's time? Thanks!
