Originally it was stated that Workman's comp claims would not use ICD-10. Now I see some will, some won't.

Is there any other type of coding that will NOT use ICD-10? I know we were told there were two groups that will stay on ICD-9. But that was last year, and things keep changing.

Thank you!!

All HIPAA payers and providers must convert to ICD-10CM codes for visits of Oct 1, 2015 and forward. Work comp and auto are non HIPAA payers and are the only ones that are not required to convert. I am not sure where you heard that some payers will not convert but it is not optional except for wc and auto.
