Hi, all.

Is anyone able to tell me if an order to continue crisis care (round the clock care) would be considered additional workup in the number of diagnosis/management options section of medical decision making?

I appreciate any help with this.

Thank!

Workup is usually understood to mean additional testing or evaluation - e.g. lab tests, imaging, biopsies, referrals to specialists, etc. - needed in order to establish the definitive diagnosis that is needed in order to develop a treatment plan. Workup isn't treatment or care, so I would not consider the situation you're describing here to be additional workup for MDM purposes.
