So I'm really just in the beginning stages of getting certified. I've worked at a dental office for the last 1.5 years doing treatment coordinating/insurance billing and some coding there. Would this sort of experience at least sort of transfer over when looking for medical coding jobs after I get certified, or are employers typically looking for medical office experience specifically? I want to make sure I am prepared the best I can be, and see if I should start looking into working with the local hospital or something instead. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!
