When the doctor dictates that he did the " Left Ventricular Angiography" what must he dictate in the report? Is it enough for him to say he did it? That he crossed the aortic valve and pressures were recorded? Does he need to include the pressures????

Thank you in advance!!

Cindy

Hi, I have always educated my cardiologists that documentation of entry into the left ventricle was necessary. Either by recording of LV pressure, ventriculogram, or gradient pressures across the aortic valve. I don't believe that simply stating the ventricle was entered is sufficient to demonstrate the medical necessity as to why the procedure was performed without demonstrating some physiological results.

I hope this helps :)
