Hi,
rookie question, and i didn't find my answer looking it up.

If the pt has a hx of pre-term labour, but the ob does not call the pregnancy "high risk", do i code this as a normal pregnancy, or do i code this as a high risk pregnancy?

Thanks from a newbie!

I would code it as a normal pregnancy, unless they are doing something to help prevent a preterm labor for the current pregnancy, due to a history of preterm labor... for example, a progesterone injection, you would use the history of preterm labor for the diagnosis for that procedure -- IF that is the diagnosis they give you, that is the diagnosis I see in my facility-- Other than that, I would just use the normal pregnancy code.
